Nataku's my favorite character from Saiyuki. And this is my first fanart for Saiyuki I'm experimenting on different styles so I'm making fanarts for now. And I experiment on fanarts often ^^

Wanted this to look like a poster and I originally intended for there to be a dragon behind Nataku. But a detailed dragon behind him looked too crowded so I removed the dragon and settled with a shadow instead. Oh yea, that's "Nataku" on the side. It was hard to look for a brush that I can use to make it look like that It would've been easier if I just did this on paper instead of the pc but I'm still trying to master digital art. ^__^

And I wanted Nataku to melt out of the picture, sort of.

Nataku. This is very beautiful. Also, all the red reminds me of that image of Nataku floating in the vat of blood(?). I wonder if he'll ever wake up..? With where the manga is heading off to right now, no one's really expecting a sudden side-trip to Heaven...

PS where did you FIND chapter 15 of Gaiden?? I've been scouring the web for anything other than the first book.

Everybody has commented on the gloriousness of teh Toushin Taishi, so I'll just ask why you used kana instead of kanji...I dunno...Most of the times I've seen Nezha/Nataku his name is 哪吁. meh. Not like it matters, really.

Also...Am I the only one who in Chapter 15 of Gaiden was rooting for him to summon an ice dragon, instead of that quake-spell thingy?

I used kana because I forgot how to write the kanji of his name XD XD

Hoh and you're not the only one. Actually, the only thing I've read of Saiyuki was the gaiden. If Nataku comes back to the living and is no longer a vegetable, I'd go and pick up the manga and read it.

This is awsome!!! Very cool. Only thing maybe the eyes could be darker. Really not something to worry about. This will be my first ever download. Very cool work.
