Description yesterday I traveled by bus to my bf. it's a long way, about 40min ride. I don't like it but what can I do?
but yesterday, bacause of some demonstrations, my bus had to take a detour road. that's how I stocked in the traffic. my road was 30minutes longer than it used to be. the bus jerked all the way, driven 10 meters and then stop. the traffic was huge. I started to feel sick, my head nearly exploded and I felt like I could vomit my stomach and brain at the same time.

I wanted to scream. shout. yell.

I wanted to shout at all people around, at all ppl in cars, at ppl in the bus, at ppl on the street. at everyone.
without a reason. just because I was angry.
but even if inside I was so angry, outside I stayed calm and impassive.

because I knew that it's not proper to stand up and scream. even if I barely could hold my rage. it wasn't proper.
maybe it's the border between being normal or insane. when you're not acting proper people could think you're crazy. how many people in that bus holded their emotions? how many people at the street don't do what they feel because it's not proper. how many times you acted proper but you didn't felt like that?

just a random thought that came up to my head. sorry, I don't want it to sounds like a pseudo-philosophical bullshit. hope it doesn't :I (I know it does..)

idk. in fact I can't even scream. but I wish I could. scream and throw out all my rage.

This happens to me all the time, like I just want to release all of my actual thoughts and feelings, but I just end up "acting proper".

There are times when I myself have to hide my emotions. In class, around my family, around my friends. It's emotionally draining and depressing. It takes away a sweet part of life. The more I find myself holding in, the sleepier I become.

Very strong piece of artwork. Followed by a very good description. I know that feeling very well. Probably all humans do, the only difference is how often someone feels it. Let me do some pseudo-philosophical bs for a bit There are many norms imposed to mankind by mankind. Some of them are there for a good reason, to protect others, to warn others, to keep stressful situations as calm as possible. I would say this is one of those situations. I am sure many people were angry inside and felt like that but if they all expressed themselves that would create even more chaos on road and put in danger passengers as the drivers would feel even more pressure. BUT there are also many norms of "proper" behavior that are relics of the old age, that are kept alive without purposeΒ and create population to feel out of place and not normal if they feel that way so they hide it. And that creates a lot of problems within society. FFS we are still having wars over religion, which should be very far behind us. Let alone some "minor" things. It is a sad world out there.

Whatthefuk,
who gets this worked up over a bus ride? even worse still, all these emos in the comments agreeing with this.
"aww yeah man, an hour and 15 minutes in the bus that's totally a good reason to get angry and want to shout at all those people that ALSO have to sit in the bus"
It's got nothing to do with being proper it's about not being an asshole to everyone else in the bus for a really stupid reason.
what's wrong with you all?
your art is pretty decent though.

Silver--Wing In reply to jenssosaurus [2014-09-30 22:46:25 +0000 UTC]

You know, just writing this comment is being "an asshole to everyone else". You could just have gone on living your life, not bothering yourself and others with the woes of someone you don't know and obviously don't care about. And being compassionate, even for a stupid reason, is not the same as being emo.
p.s. Please don't reply, I don't want to start a hate war. -_-

jenssosaurus In reply to Silver--Wing [2014-10-02 12:17:05 +0000 UTC]

Don't tell me what to do,
you could have just not replied if you didn't want my reaction, you could have gone on living your life without having to secure your moral superiority in front of a bunch of strangers, but you didn't.

I for one think nobody should ever get this worked up about a busride and everyone who thinks that you should or that a prolonged busride is really THAT bad that you would want to scream and shout at a bunch of strangers, who have nothing to do with the situation and also have to sit longer in the bus are really stupid.
It's not about feeling compassion it's about finding trivial things to whine about (much like I'm doing right now. I'm very well aware of the irony, thank you) and feeling sorry for yourself because "you had to sit on a bus for just over an hour".in other words emo.

I'm not sure why, but this description you have left annoys me. Chill out it's a bus ride, it's not supposed to resemble cruise line. A 40 minute bus ride isn't really that long, sit back listen to music and relax.

The way you describe the reason for keeping your cool during this HORRIFYING ordeal is that it wouldn't be 'proper' to stand up and express your rage. It's not that it wouldn't be proper it's that it wouldn't be smart, more effort for 0 gain. It would be bitchy, annoying, and pointless for you to have done anything else but sit down and shut up and it would make the experience much worse for you and everyone else. It'd be like yelling at an approaching hurricane. Stupid. These are the situations that in which people keep their cool because there's nothing they can do, they happen every day I don't think there's anything philosophical about it.

What I'm getting at is that I don't think this scenerio you have described (being stuck in traffic and angry at the world) warrants the topic of why people act and don't act proper.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

darkvanila In reply to TheMichaelMacRae [2014-09-28 06:41:45 +0000 UTC]

I dont think the main reason of her anger was just the travel beeing longuer, you know. She was probably already tired and had other problems in mind, life isnt always easy and nice. Also, many other factors may influence someone's reactions when facing a situation, some people take somethings easlily while other dont and vice-versa. To be honest, i think her though was worth, maybe it doesnt explain why people act or dont act proper, i dont think it was her intention either but it expose one of our society's problems (in case you havent notice, other people feel the same or have feel the same).
Besides, i would like to add that, as you talk about "more effort for 0 gain", please try to use a better vocabulary when expressin a critic, try to be more objective and focus on facts. I mean, avoid words like "studip, horrifying, pointless, etc." They are opinion words, dont mix them with your critic. And last, i get your point, yes, it is just a ride and theres nothing we can do about it, but please, have a little more empathy, not because you never feel exasperated by some little things it means it doesnt happen to other/ its stupid and make no sense.
