XD ok this was a all night project that I came up with after reading the full "Magic Kaito" series that is one of Mr. Aoyama's earlier works that was semi halted when he started Detective Conan (Case Closed in English)

For those who don't know the teenager is named Kaito Kuroba (AKA Kaito KID or Phantom Thief KID in the English version) and I'm quite certain he was the inspiration for Shinichi Kudo (Jimmy Kudo in English) simply because they not only share the same face but their bangs are the same except the back of their heads are different. The same thing can be said about their girlfriends. Nevertheless Kaito and Shinichi make great rivals/partners when it comes to having their duel of wits or teaming up to save someone or something.
The Kid is Conan Edogawa (AKA the Shinichi Kudo) I won't go into details about this particular character but if your a fan of the series you should already know him.
If anyone cares or has any interest in mysteries read Detective Conan it's a great series

On a different note in terms of the sudden art style change. I studied the art style of the books (the anime art style varies so rely on books for study) and figured out the basics of how the characters are drawn and imitated it. I never trace anything but I am quite good at imitating art styles for fan art.
