Gen VI made it so that Female Azurill evolved into Female Marill no matter what. Same was done with Male Azurill.

My Azumarill was like that. When it leveled up as a Marill, it the window that shows the gained stats says that it's female. But when it became Azumarill it said it was male. So I think it's an overlooked bug.
