Not out of left field. Frieza did treat Vegeta relatively well(ex: protecting him from the Ginyu Force). I imagined Frieza saw Vegeta as a protege. However Vegeta wanted to be independent and after his position, instead of a subservient successor. Though what Frieza did to Vegeta was deplorable, I honestly don't blame him for wanting to punish Vegeta for his insurrection

I remember reading these DBZ Doujinshi several weeks ago and this reminds of when Frieza was trying take a baby Vegeta as his own to look afterβ¦much to the King's disliking it was pretty funny.

I had found them on flickr, There still on their, but they are in Japanese.
I know of one though by the name Salad Ball it revolves around the Saiyans and comedical what-ifs within the Saiyan Saga itself and before the events. I really liked it myself especially since it was nice to see Nappa more on a softer side and being a little more sympathetic and out of character, he is my favorite! Β Β
