Cool tutorial! Simple, yet beautiful, the eyes you made! But I don't usually use SAI, maybe I can use it in Photoshop, too? (With a little difference lol.)
Thanks for making this!

Not sure how much I can help unless I know details! I explained it to the best of my abilities. D: But you do need a pen tablet in order to get the sensitivity; maybe its not installed properly?

The Marker, Watercolor, and Brush tool in SAI Painter all do really interesting blending when you merge one color into another! They may be named differently in the recent SAI update though.

Most of the time it's just constant practice! I only give you basic tricks, but after that it's just patience and doing it until you get it right! That's all I can really say~

Awesome tutorial ^_^ Um, I have a question; When I paint the eyes, I use multiple layers, including a base color and maybe two shading layers (they are all clipped, btw), and I've seen in tutorials that you can tweak the top/bottom layer's color with the Hue/Saturation filters. However, when I do that, the entire clipping group changes color, not just the one I selected.
Can you help me, please, I need to know what I'm doing wrong...

Fushi-Chou In reply to SakuraChan501 [2012-06-07 03:11:03 +0000 UTC]
Unfortunately, I have no idea what clipped layers do... I've never used them before. ^^' Are you in Photoshop? Or did you do it with SAI?

Fushi-Chou In reply to SakuraChan501 [2012-06-07 17:32:26 +0000 UTC]
Ooooh~ Wow, I totally have a much more complicated version of doing that... XD
Have you tried testing without having clipped layers? Maybe that's it for some reason?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
SakuraChan501 In reply to Fushi-Chou [2012-07-07 13:40:45 +0000 UTC]
Ooh, I think I figured it out! If the layers are clipped, you can change the hue/saturation by selecting the layer you want to change, and click the "preserve opacity" button. That way, the layer is "locked" and only that one will be affected!
Sorry I haven't replied...and sorry to bother you, but thank you ^_^
