Commission one of your own: [link]

Fun, fun, and FUN! Anyone interested in commissioning me for their own pair? How much would you pay for these, or a custom pair in general from me? (please comment) I'll make a journal with more detail if enough are interested.

Again, my first time customizing shoes, and it was damn fun.

Absolutely AMAZING work. Wish I had the money for some like this, because these are damn good. I love Converse, and would die for a custom pair like these.

Thank you!

I think he paid $40 for them. And that's from the most well known swapmeet in my area.

What brand of acrylics were you using? I haven't tried yet acrylics on shoes yet, but I see a lot of peeps using a particular brand for such shoe crafts: Lukas, and...something else i think.

Thank you

How much did you have to pay for your pens and where did you get them?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fydbac In reply to piro-kitsune [2009-12-04 03:12:12 +0000 UTC]

The pens (both micron and copic multiliners) cost between $2-3 dollars each. You can get them at any art store, I got mine at various places.

The paint markers, I got the sharpie brand ones at Office depot, and the decopaint ones at michael's. But you can get either at a crafts store.

Hope that helps

Ah, thank you. I went to Michaels two days ago looking for pens, but it seems the one we have out here doesnt have any. Ill be sure to check Office depot tho.

And if you dont mind telling, how much do you usually charge?

fydbac In reply to piro-kitsune [2009-12-06 07:13:14 +0000 UTC]

I'm glad I helped

Charge for shoes? That information can be found here: [link]

Thank you for the inquiry!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

piro-kitsune In reply to fydbac [2009-12-07 03:33:52 +0000 UTC]

If they brought their items to you how much would you charge then?

See, my plan is to meet with the people and discus what they want drawn on their items, shoes, shirts, backpacks, ect. Im just really at a loss of what i should charge. I know it would vary depending on how much work they would want done, but Ive been watching you for a wile, and not in the creepy Internet stalker way, and thought i should ask you.

So sorry if I bombard you with questions from time to time. I know you have better things to do. X3

fydbac In reply to piro-kitsune [2009-12-07 05:01:52 +0000 UTC]

You mean if they brought their own shoes to you? The service charge would be the same, but I wouldn't add shoe cost or mailing (considering if they lived in the area and gave them to me in person).

The charge I have for shoes is based on my standard rate (which is $30/hr), and on what I believe is fair. I think rates in general are based on one's believe in their own worth, estimated time to completion, and supplies (if non-digital).

I just make sure I'm not cheapening myself (for example, if I gave my discount offers the same proceedings as a Standard commission), doing such is unprofessional and damaging to the economy of this industry. Not to mention it shows just how much respect I have for my own work.

I'm honored you would come to me concerning such matters.
I hope what I mentioned helps somewhat, good luck with your endeavors!

Wow, those are awesome. I actually just participated in a benefit where a group of artists painted on Converse Sneakers (Chucks) to support Sickle Cell Awareness. My sneakers sold pretty high in the auction but yours would have sold higher!

Great work!
