This scene has a very fascinating setting.

Ha! Love the expression on the catcher's face

I like that seriousness in such a playful situation, it reminds me of the expressions of children sometimes.

However, although this was just meant to be a bit of fun, it made me realize how difficult it is to get realism in Luxrender when the characters are not in close up (props and backgrounds are fine). Do you find that? The catcher looks very rough to me. I suppose the answer mey be to make huge resolution renders, but they would take so long. That's why I tend to be satisfied with my portraits, but disappointed with my bigger scenes.

So true about kids expressions

I do find that about LUX, that the further characters get from the camera, the less realism I get although I have seen some realistic large scenic shots by others. I think it comes down to the light, rather than the resolution size, a lot more of it is needed. Experiment with the 'dreaded' sun light. I actually quite like it and have even used it for 'interior' shots. I'm doing a scene at the moment with lots of shiny metals and one sun and it is rendering 3 times as fast and looking good at lower sp than a lot of my usual IBL/mesh light renders.
Textures also need to be good to show detail at distance. I've still to find a better skin texture than the Elite Lee. It's amazing how close you can zoom into that texture and still see detail and not just pixels.

Thanks I used DAZ Studio and Luxrender. I just used Photoshop for tonal effects, such as levels, contrast, saturation, etc.
