Description

The Nighean mage, Draven, you may have seen before as part of an adventuring party, here, along with Marcus, Viscount Gray:

In fact, he's at the very same site, Meiryn's Tower, under which lie extensive dungeons and caverns, and an underground lake.

It was upon the shores of that lake that Draven found an ancient trident. Picking up the relic Draven found to his horror that he could not let it go and soon after he fell into a great swoon of delirium in which he seemed to be in the murky depths of the lake, and about him were webbed and tentacled horrors of the sea. When he awoke, he found that he could let go the trident, but upon his body he found slowly spreading growing things, webbed and tentacled as those horrors in his dream. Whereupon he visited the great archmage Myhran in the city of Kozosht. Even Myhran could not dispel the curse, but had by chance a talisman curiously wrought in the form of a tentacled head. This Draven girded about his loins and indeed, as Myhran had said to him, it did hinder the spread of the accursed disease somewhat.

Draven still searches for a release from this curse, but he did find that he'd gained considerable powers along with it, such as the ability to breathe in water, an affinity with the creatures of seas of lakes and a great command of water magics.
