It's cool to see how the drawing process pans out, and how you try a few different ways of drawing things before settling on one design, like with the scales. There's a lot more effort that goes into shading than what I thought! What did you have an easy time with, and what did you find most challenging about this drawing?

Where the lighting goes. It was really awkward xD I've never done cell shade before.

That's understandable, the lighting can be a bit tricky... deciding how the light falls or doesn't fall across different features, etc. After doing cell shading for the first time, does it seem like something you'd enjoy to keep doing, or do you prefer your other shading methods?

This is freaking gorgeous!!! I'm amazed with that beautiful work that you did with the moonlight, iluminating the scene this way, the same with the shading. Ness looks so cute sticking her tongue out.OwO Nice detail with the scales, I like a lot how you drew them.
BTW That tittle rocks!

THAAANKKK YOU

I wanted to try my own lite way of drawing scales . Ness has really rough skin almost like armour instead of the shiny scales.

WHAT'S PINEAPPLE HEAD DOING the way she's sticking her tongue out is cute! What would Xero do in return?
I really like the strong contrast between the areas lit by moon and the shaded areas, it gives that night-time feel while still making the chara plenty visible, and the way you've drawn/coloured the eye iris is pretty neat too! The striated (?) green feather barbs/pins are a nice detail. Β
I see you're paying more attention to anatomy recently, I'm excited to see where you go with this. Like, in this pic, you can sorta see how the muscles in her neck go (judging by shaded/lit parts of her scales), and the 'depressed' area between her nostril and eye.

Xero would just stick his out too hehe xD

I'm really trying to get into the anatomy!! And my own little way of scales too I wanted something different

Thanks for the kind comment

Tongue-sticking-out contest xD

How are you learning about anatomy, do you have anatomy textbooks to read or do you look at pictures of animals on the net? The scales are unique in the way they're depicted, and they are represented well enough without having to draw in every single one.

You're welcome!

Like I said in the stream, this picture is honestly looking to be your best as of now. Your style has improved, the shading is amazing for your first time cell shading (at least I think it is). The background and eyes are amazing. I really love how you did this pic and it was awesome watching you draw it!
