Anyone remember Mythica? No? Well, no big surprise there. Mythica was a video game that could have been. Microsoft nutured it, then killed it, which is a damn shame considering the style guide was a who's who of concept design. Amazing. This happens to more video games, I swear. Certainly many of the games I've worked on.It made it into Spectrum, though, so hurrah!

I remember Mythica! It was (and still is) the only MMO I ever had an interest to play... I loved the stylised take on the Norse mythology! I've been trying to get as much of the art from it as possible, I was a huge fan of all the concept art for the game especially. Been trying to work out who the concept artists that worked on it were... so I could find some of the work. I remember some brilliant concepts for the game world, such as your fantastic work above, and the player classes, especially for the Warrior and Berserker, there was some really original and inspiring stuff.
Anyway, I really like the scratchy style of these Mythica pieces, such a shame it never came to be
