Oh. My. Gosh. This is amazing! The color and the shading are done very well, the eyes are very hard to describe due to how awesome they are.
The background is amazing, too! It looks like some sort of supernova... This is just amazing.

how do you shrink them big pictures to icon size without making them look all pixiled

I don't draw bigger and then shrink, I draw on 300x300 pixel canvas and 300 DPI

dpi = dots per inch

life stuff - setting 300 dpi is good because when you want to print something, 72 (usual dpi) is not enough
so I alwys when create new canvas and want to draw, I set on 300 dpi
you set it in your drawing program
