Really cool. Love the quote from the OCB, I used to really love Dune.

The Herbert books are decent.Β The spinoffs are.......erm........
I enjoy science fiction more than fantasy these days. Maybe I just got burned out on fantasy as a teenager? I dunno.Β Been reading a lot of horror lately too.

I'd consider renaming that piece if I were you because I'm a watcher of yours and I might have to check again but I do seem to remember looking rather different from that

This is quite the piece. I would agree with wyrmfed though; thicker paint, less canvas, and bring out the birds a bit more. But the overall feel worked.

That red into magenta background is dazzling. Great scene and I like the quote.Β
If you want your acrylic paintings to resemble your digitals, I'd suggest going heavier on the paint. There's too much canvas showing through for my taste, looks like you were running out of paint :]Β
I used to mix my acrylics quite thick, but if you experiment with your water mixture you can find a viscosity you enjoy.Β

Well, that's one reason I haven't painted much traditionally lately, materials get expensive (so are computers I suppose).Β
Pay attention to the clarity of the paints too. Some are made more opaque, some more translucent. That might be part of the problem.Β
I was left with a tube of translucent black at one point, straight out of the tube it would barely show.Β
The translucent paints are good if you use a glazing technique; the opaque paints are good for .Β .Β . whatever the opposite of glazing is :]
I'm really out of practice, but that's my two cents.Β

Looks wonderful, the one piece of advice I can give is, don't be afraid of using more water on your brush to smooth out your color before you change to another color. Also, let your paint dry before you added anotherΒ layer as you add details.
