Wow -- out of all of my horror character redesigns, this mf MF changed the most!
I mean, he wasn't too much of a character to begin with.. he was just proxy fodder and an excuse to explore Cynophobia within a character
Now he's a character that gives people Cynophobia : D

Muzzle Face's true identity is that of Raul Mauricio. He was born in Paraguay, but his family was given the opportunity to move to the states when he reached the age of 8. However, right before the opportunity was given to them, Raul was involved in an accident.
None of his family members can agree on the circumstances of the night that Raul lost half of his face, but his family swears they saw some creature running from the scene of the crime. Raul can barely remember the night himself, but as he was walking home, he took a shortcut with his friends and siblings. Their shortcut happened to cross paths with a long-forgotten burial ground, none of the children were aware of this fact, so they didn't suspect a thing. However, just as Raul was about to walk out of the grounds, a misshapen dog ran in-between his legs and began to attack him. All he could hear was his siblings' screams mixed with the pounding of blood in his ears. Raul didn't even notice his own, deafening screams of terror. Thankfully, their home was close, and Raul's father came running, his gun at his side. Raul's father kicked the dog away from his son before shooting it. But the beast refused to die, even after its front paw was blown off. It groaned like a human and slinked away, disappearing from view. Because of his father's fast reaction, the beast missed Raul's vitals. However, the damage done to his face was irreparable. Raul would forever bear the marks of the beast that attacked him.

In both Paraguay and the US, Raul was feared for his appearance. Not only was he disfigured, but he grew to a monstrous 6' 6" and 242 lbs by the age of 15. Contrary to his appearance and trauma, Raul grew into a huge animal lover. He would take care of the stray dogs and cats in his area and was hired at a local pets store due to his gentle nature. The job was just what he needed, as the old woman who ran the store was losing her sight and never judged Raul for his appearance.
However, there was a festering disease within Raul's veins. Though Raul tried his hardest to be kind and gentle, though Raul dressed and groomed well to draw attention away from his face, and though his family showed him unwavering support, Raul was incredibly lonely...and that made him angry. The shallowness of those who didn't know him and judged him based on his appearance managed to crawl under his skin each and every day. He felt as if he had to step on eggshells as to not disturb his peace, but it was never good enough.
As his 18th birthday came around the corner, so too did the 10th anniversary of his trauma. That night, Raul suffered from terrible stress headaches and night terrors. That, mixed with his rising anger over the years, caused him to transform for the first time. Raul wretched in pain as his body creaked and bent unnaturally. He tried to scream but nothing came out of his vocal chords that sounded human. His face scars, though long healed cracked open again and his blood fell to the ground as the wound was stretched open again. As Raul's self slipped from consciousness, he was able to catch a glimpse of what he had become.
When Raul woke, he found himself sleeping in an alleyway beside his place of work. Shakily, he entered the building for help but what he found caused him to retch at the sight. Upstairs in his boss's apartment, sat the old woman's corpse sat in her recliner. However, her skin had been peeled off like strips of jerky, her eye sockets were black holes, and there were giant holes ripped open in the side of her head and chest.
As fast as he could, Raul ran. In his fit of fear and anguish, he couldn't stop his feet. Raul was only able to stop once he collapsed from exhaustion.

After that, Raul's consciousness did not return to him until he turned 24. For 6 years, the beast was in control of him, feasting on the dead and killing those who dared to tread on his grounds. Raul was only able to come to his senses after the beast had been shot by a hunter who had mistaken him for a bear...and had paid with his life. Raul woke within the woods, afraid and alone...

After that point, Raul somehow gets mixed up with proxies and other horror beings. He becomes a sort of wild-card assassin for these shady individuals.
Of course, Raul would never agree to it, but he eventually becomes a prisoner in his own body. The beast completely takes control of Raul's conscious self, whether transformed or not...Raul's being is effectively killed by the monster in control of him, now only a shell to be used by the being...the Luison.
The monster begins to develop speech while in control of Raul, even developing a human-like personality and mannerisms. They begin going by Luis in human form as an impish nod to their true identity.
