See, boys and girls. THIS is a deranged Mad Hatter, none of this Johnny Depp Ronald McDonald-lookin nonsense. And I was SO looking forward to American Mcgee's Alice being made into a movie one day that when Tim Burton stole the throne.. I got a bit upset. I enjoyed Tim Burton's version, but I LOVE Alice: Madness Returns! Mad Hatter and Carpenter kick ass!

Now THIS is what the Mad Hatter should've looked like in the movie! Don't get me wrong, I liked the Tim Burton Alice movie and the Mad Hatter in it, but Mcgee's Mad Hatter is by far the best! The Disney's Mad Hatter was just funny lol he was cool too. Man this guy was my favorite character in Alice Madness Returns! He was just so... AMAZING! 
And... Does this mean there is no time to celebrate a very happy "un-birthday" ....?

You are absolutely right, Tim Burton's version just plainly sucked, if you haven't seen it, trust me, you haven't missed much.
(Seriously. The characters were terrible, the story was crap, and the whole thing went way too fast ! ...and the Jabberwock sucked... was so looking forward to him...)
American McGee's Alice is still, and will always be, the greatest, darkest and most interesting version of Lewis Carol's book.
Marvelous picture by the way ! This is when I fullheartly decide to refuse a teaparty invitation. God, the Hatters so awesome... his eyes are staring right through you... while he thinks of how he can turn you into a mechanical version of yourself... or worse.

Actually I had an idea a year or two ago when the rumors were just coming out, that it would be nice to see the Hatter a bit more as in retrospect he didn't get that much screen time, and I figured what might happen is maybe his mind snapped again and because Alice killed the Queen of Hearts/Red Queen in the last game it would be only too easy for him to take over all of Wonderland and make more of his lovely machinations. I could be and probably am totally off but whatever, it's fun to think about XD

I don't think Burton's trying to make it really, really 'dark' - but you never know. I want American Mcgee to be made into a movie to, but I'm so addicted to anything AIW that I'm looking forward to EVERYTHING.

On the rant related note, I find it amusing that people get upset over Through the Looking Glass being not "dark enough," considering the original wasn't all that dark to begin with. Doesn't invalidate your opinion of course, that's what you want to see. I just find it funny.

By 'darker', I was leaning more towards Tim Burton's reputation.. Granted I havent seen his movie yet, but with his goth-style public image, i can imagine he'll try and twist it up a little lol.
And what's sad is that with my strong belief of American-Mcgee-all-the-way, I don't think i'll enjoy Burton's version even if it DOES turn out to be good

I love that game! i take 3 hours a day for playing it! i still haven't finished... and as for Tim Burton's movie, i haven't seen it either, but judgeing from how he twisted Coraline, i think it's gonna be crap!

I do love Burton movies but I must agree, though I don't have McGee's version I watched all the cutscenes on youtube and it's so much better. That version would have been kickass as a movie!

UGH I know what you mean! I love Tim Burton btw, but when it comes to Alice in Wonderland I get a headache. The story is supposed to be dark and scary but the versions I see is always.. oh happy fun time yey. Sparkle sparkle.
I dunno. I never seen the actual story as "weee~" but the way it is portrayed is always like that. Thus why I don;t like Alice in Wonderland <_<; just the original idea of it all.
