Description Turns out that spraining your finger is pretty good in case you want to get some time to do some horse studies

So WWI again this time a German Hussar and an Austrian Uhlan. I think the Austrian Uhlan hat/helmet could be a bit taller, now it's easily taken for a German one.

The austrian Uhlan's helmet aroused my interest. At first i thought it was a kind of Pickelhaube

Well you weren't completely wrong, the Austrian, just like the Germans and Russian, Uhlan helmet(Czapka) has pretty much the same "base" as an pickelhaube, but with the Uhland top instead of a spike.

Well the original is from 18th century Poland i think, and back then it was pretty much just a square hat.

Nepp, Tysken är till vänster med tanke på hans Dolma och Tolpak. Jag fann nämligen ingen bild nånstans på de Österrikiska Ulanerna med lans, varken på foto eller illustrationer och då både inom samtida och moderna illustrationer. Så antingen äre kass efterforskning från min sida eller så av någon anledning var de Österrikiska Ulanerna ej beväpnade med lans.

P.S. Bismarcks mustasch pekade neråt ej uppåt/utåt
