Description Tried to to it in the style of Gerhard Munthe and Halfdan Egedius, who both have done a lot of viking illustrations (you should check em out if you don't know them, mind blowing stuff).i think i should have gone with a heavier and darker feeling to it, rookie mistake i guess

anyways the story behind it is following:

The repatriation has begun and the Ynglingaätten(svear/swedes) has com to sweden and their king are Yngve- Frej and is supposed to be the son of Freyjr(that right, the god!).
and he is the one that brought the blotandet(sacrifice fest) to Sweden, and he did this at Upsal. and from their he instituted Upsala Öd, and this meant that each property was assigned a Upsal(pagan tempel for the gods), and this made it possible for everyone to visit a tempel near them.

when Yngve-Frej got seriously ill, his subjects built him a big mound, whit a door and three small openings . and when he died they secretly layed him in the mound.
Svearna continued unknowingly in three years time to give tax to their king. the tax was dropped in the openings, gold through one and silver in the other hole and copper in the last. which kept the crops good and the peace long, and when they finde out that their king was dead, they realised the crops had been good and their was still peace, so they kept on worshipping their king Yngve-Frej as a god.

I think i will do more from the Ynglingatala, lots of fun things to do

P.S the Ynglingaätt are a nobel kin that has been called Swedens first kings. lets not for get tho that there is other people still living in Sweden by this time for example the Gauts

Finally. I love Gerhard Munthe style but never found someone who did similar things.
Nice work!

thanks man really appreciate it!

altho Yngve- Frej is supposed to lived during the same time as emperor Augustus of rome. which would make it bronze age in Sweden if i'm not mistaken too much
