The pencil colouring on this is amazing! How did you do it? Did you have a base colour and then add on colour shades as you went along?

I've seen the De Laurentis version on DVD twice so far via Netflix. I love this stuff. Klytus looks like a photograph. So does Flash. Ming exudes menace !

I have been a fan of FG all my life--as well as of BATMAN--, and I took those characters very seriously; I even used the drawings of those strips as models for learning to draw. Naturally, the goofiness and gooniness of the 1966 TV show and the 1980 movie totally blindsided me, and even today my reaction to them is total puzzlement.

This is so awesome. Flash Gordon was one of my favorite childhood movies. Funny to watch now b/c it's somewhat cheesey..... but when I was a kid Ming scared the pooh outta me. Great picture!
