Reaper Danny does have some cool implications.Β For one his powers would be more based around necromancy.Β And having him fully ghost would be a more mature and brooding take on the charecter

The show was oddly passive about the connection between death and ghosts.Β Heck didn't even draw the connection till i was looking for some fanfiction and someone pointed out that maybe insted of "giving" him powers the accedent half killed him.
That would have defianately changed the dynamic of the show...i mean thats like Spawn or Hellboy sort of dark
But insted it ended up feeling sort of like a Spiderman cartoon (as a Spidy fan this is the highest honor i can bestow).
Super Strength, Ecto blasts all very...generic powers.Β Granted he did use invisibility and intangability but again i never related it to him being dead.
I read that the real reason Danny got his powers was that Ectoplasm synced with his DNA (hence the scene from the opening) and that the "ghosts were either...well the dead or simply around since time immemorial
Of couse it was a kid show so i know why it was generic.Β But it has potential as a more "adult" themed show as well

yah man there are like, endless theories about danny being actually dead and not just a bunch of ghost power bullshit :v and brooo of course danny phantom was a kids show, but then it had that special thing that even teenagers could watch it for its story

Growing up i was wierd.Β I couldn't afford to get comics, or video games so i had to get my idols in a different way.
Cartoons became my to go shows.Β Danny Phantom, Teen Titans, heck even Timmy Turner were all my early idols.Β True looking back they seem kidish but i was an inventive little bugger.Β
I picked up on all the little newances.Β I saw these cartoons as really epic because i imagined them in our world.
Eventually i did learn of comic book heros and im a Marvel/DC fanboy.Β
But i still remember defending Danny Phantom from "mainstream" heros.Β To me he's one of the greats.Β Heck i went on FanFiction the other day, ITS THE THIRD HIGHEST FANFICTION!Β That means theres TONS of it!
Thats amazing to me.Β Without the boot to public conciousness that Marvel, and DC have gotten Danny Phantom remains so popular.Β I really hope they do something with that.Β He's too great a charecter to let fade into obscurity.
