Don't you just hate it whenever someone can't hear you even when you're yelling at the top of your lungs, but when you try to whisper and keep it down, suddenly, they can hear everything? Not that I've ever met anyone like that in real life (yet) who can do both, but I can think of a couple of video game characters off of the top of my head...who also happen to be known as "jerks". XD

While the bosses in these Pokemon games don't always act like this specifically, the degree to which they can misconstrue words...on purpose, it seems...in order to have an excuse to fight you instead of talking things out makes it so they might as well be acting like this.
