This is as close as you're going to get to seeing me make "Rallen and Jody - The Musical". But seriously, the cool thing about musical sequences is that you can, like in the movie Tarzan, pass lots of time in a way that feels natural and exciting at the same time. (Even if the song is somewhat morbid.) Jody's horribly off-key song has no exact tune, although while I was writing it long before I even started this page, I was listening to a certain pirate song over and over again...Of course, Metal Sound only lowers Special Defense, which would seem pretty useless since Pawniards and Bisharps are best at physical attacks. The only use it has here is annoying their prey so badly that it's easier to defeat them. After all, listening to a sound like nails scratching on a chalkboard is enough to drive anyone nuts. In actuality, I already had the song all planned out; it was only when I began to look up moves for Jody (something I didn't even bother to do until starting Page 3) when I realized, "Oh hey, Metal Sound here can explain why her voice sounds so terrible here."

About time Rallen (or someone major) evolved! As you can see here, poor Rallen had a very hard time making friends...probably because he kept annoying them with his ego. It was around this time when he developed the catchphrase "like a BOSS!" Sure is better than (and makes more sense than, for those who don't know Japanese) his namesake's "HONKI DE IKU ZE!", that's for sure.

It's SO much fun juxtaposing an extremely technologically advanced society with an extremely primitive one. I don't know why! Maybe because I get to use our society as a starting point and make radical adjustments from there.

Jody has a tendency to play rough, even with poor Amy. It's pretty obvious that she's never met a Jigglypuff before. She's seriously lucky that Amy was too polite to blast a Flamethrower all over her. But really, Jody becomes very jealous of people who have special skills other than just battling. When your entire childhood consists of learning how to battle and hunt stuff, your extracurricular activities get kind of...deprived.

No Bouffalants were harmed in the making of this musical. What happened to the ones that were really hunted by Jody's tribe, on the other hand...

This is probably the cutest page I have ever read! Dang you make Elgyem and Beheeyem so cute! It makes me wish I had included one on my team!

Oh dear...

My style seems to naturally make whatever Pokemon I draw become at least a little cute, if not a lot (since I draw these guys so much that whenever I look at official art of them now, I get surprised), so that's probably what it is.

Too bad about the Pawniards, though, huh?

You mean add links to text? Like a certain pirate song ?

Yes. XD I've been trying to look it up, and I can't find anything on it.

Ah, you need to know HTML for that. Basically, you type < a href= " " >, put the URL in the middle of the quotes, type the text you want to be clickable, and then end it with an < /a> tag, but without the spaces in all of those.

Galactic-Rainbow In reply to eternanyx [2012-09-09 13:07:47 +0000 UTC]

You should put a space between "a" and "href", and also add an "" after Lullaby for a Stormy Night (but without the space).

Oh, and check the link, too. It looks like the video has been removed.

*gasp* Rallen is such an adorable overachiever. :3

Galactic-Rainbow In reply to eternanyx [2012-09-06 22:52:10 +0000 UTC]

Rallen knew that Jigglypuffs were good singers, and wanted to see how Jody's song would sound like in a Jigglypuff's voice out of curiosity. But yeah, you could also say that it's an ear remedy, considering how it sounds so much more beautiful than Metal Sound.

Well Jody could join a heavy metal band. Maybe then she would find a more appreciative audience. XD

And this is even without that one pirate song to help?

Well, I know it definitely has a rhythm to it, since I made sure it did. The tune is whatever sounds good with the rhythm, I guess.

"Honki de Iku ze"!? I know what Iku Ze mean, but not Honki De. can some one explain that meaning, please?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Galactic-Rainbow In reply to BahamutVIII [2012-09-06 02:43:25 +0000 UTC]

"Honki de" is an adverb meaning "for real", so "Honki de iku ze" would mean something like, "Let's go for REAL!"

BahamutVIII In reply to Galactic-Rainbow [2012-09-06 02:47:43 +0000 UTC]

oh, so, it could mean that when a person is saying that, they're saying they're going all out?

Galactic-Rainbow In reply to BahamutVIII [2012-09-06 02:51:29 +0000 UTC]

You're welcome! It's really not a bad catchphrase if you know what it means, but that's the thing--not everyone knows Japanese. So I gave Rallen something different that suited his personality better and was more understandable.

I gotcha. In reality, Jody's just not comfortable with the whole concept of "reading poetry out loud." She never said anything about Rallen's poetry being bad.
