Grumman TBM-3E Avenger Torpedo Bomber on display at the Intrepid Air, Sea and Space Museum in New York City.The Avenger was introduced to the US Navy Carrier fleet in 1942 as the standard torpedo bomber and served until the end of World War II. Over 9,000 of these aircraft were produced. One of these aircraft was flown by President George H.W. Bush in World War II.
Single Exposure HDR tone mapped in Photomatix 4. A detailed black and white layer was added using Nik Software Silver Effex Pro 2 and then blended into the background layer.

There is a los of sharpness on the nose of the plane.
Maybe it's from the post treatment with photomatix...
Although, the compostion is very good.

Thanks. The loss of sharpness actually comes from the fact I shot this hand held. I was just below the threshold for my IS, so it's a little blurry.

I was on the USS Intrepid, a World War II aircraft carrier converted in to a museum, a lot like the USS Midway in San Diego.
