Description
Sunset over Coney Island.Three shot HDR at bracketed at -1, 0, 1 and merged in Photomatix Pro 4. A black and white layer was added in Photoshop CS5 using the Nik Silver Effex Pro 2 plugin and blended using the luminosity option.

I don't normally like such strong HDR (I know that personal tastes differ on this subject enormously!)...but I think it really works well here, giving an ethereal, otherworldly quality...it makes be think of the deserted seaside town visited by Lyra in the Subtle Knife (Philip Pullman).

Yeah, I vary between -1,0,1 and -2,0,2. Actually I generally shoot at the later EV.
