Soooo fluffy!!! 'Nuff said.
But seriously, I love yetis and could not resist. The llama is of course a beloved icon of deviantart and adorable as can be. Seems to me, llama and yeti would surely be good friends, they have so much in common⦠Also I love how the square DA icon looks like a sleepy yeti face.

I want this shirt so badly! It's MEGA cute!!!...but the rules stated it should not be cute :/

Actually the rules do not say no cute entries, just creatures (one or many), friendly or not, inspired by or found in folklore and myth. Perhaps you're thinking that you shouldn't enter designs entered previously in the Cute Monster contest? That's the only thing I can think of.

When you download the assets package, there is a PDF file with more rules.
"We are not looking for images of cute monsters (we already did that.) Instead, think about the books you read in school about Greek and Roman Mythology or Chinese folklore. Remember that unicorns, dragons, fairies, etc. are all mythical creatures too!"

Way to go DA for not including that one line in any of the online information. Iβm going to be very surprised if many people did not skim through the pdfs to confirm they were just the same thing as posted online in the Official Rules and Terms and then move on as I did. But technically speaking, being cute is not disallowed in the actual Terms but a suggested condition on the type/representation of a mythological creature. Of course I take issue with that as a restrictive element regardless because cute is a subjective term. I personally tend to find many things to be cute where others do not, and Iβm sure others could dispute my opinion and vice versa. So I guess the moral of my ranting is simply to vote for what you like and all we can do is hope that the powers that be listen to what the people want.
