Day 4 for Shardcole week at ! Today's theme was organic. It's still not too late to join in!
I really love drawing Mobian Shard, okay. He's so cute. Decided to take advantage of the opportunity to draw the two doing something they can't do regularly as robots-- go on a dinner date 
The background is lazy, maybe I'll fix it later haha

His hands still appear a bit robotic. Now if his fingers had those segments removed and colored like his fur or skin, then perhaps he could look as organic as his template. But, you did a good job nonetheless

Haha, thank you so much! I absolutely plan to do more Mobian Shard! He's so much fun to draw and I had a blast designing him, too, so I absolutely intend on using the design frequently! If not finished pictures like this one, at least sketches for sure!

Oh my gosh, I know isn't it? >v< I'll admit that I took some inspiration from Dr. Ellidy's daughter with the glasses, but somehow, it really suits Nicole too haha! I typically draw her in them when I draw a particular redesign of her because even though she doesn't actually need the glasses, they make her look a little more organic ^v^

You can't see it in this picture because he's wearing a jacket, but I like to headcanon that a Mobian Shard's arms are actually robotized from the elbow down. Though, his robotization was more along the lines of medical rather than by Eggman's doing, somewhat like Jules because it was absolutely necessary to keep his arms functional. Unlike robot Shard, organic Shard was one of the recruits for the Freedom Fighters and thus, participated in a lot of their fights. In one of them, he managed to get himself into a position where both of his forearms were simultaneously shattered and the only hope of making sure he could keep his arms was to roboticize them, which he opted to do. However, his nerve ends were so badly damaged from the injury that even after roboticizing them, he couldn't functionally use his new arms, which is where the core comes in. In order to get the robotic parts to wire themselves into nerves that could actually make them respond, an outside source of energy was needed, because Shard's body alone just couldn't do it. And thus, he had the core implanted, and similar to his auto repair function as a robot, the core healed his arms and powers the robotics. Without it, he would lose all movement in them all over again because the power core is what bridges the gap between his organic and inorganic matter.
