Description
This started out as a blind exercise. I drew her eyes and nose first without looking (a very basic version.) Then I decided that I liked it, so it grew from there.lol, I like shiny things.
Crits/suggestions? c:
Edit 09/21/09: I made her neck thinner and also corrected her shoulders/chest. How does it look now?

This inspired me to practice a little bit with painting in gray scale, which taught me a few handy things

I think what really draws me in is the style. It's so original and the shading is SPECTACULAR. =o Your shading is like above and beyooond. ;D
lol the originality of this really is amazing though. It's so much better than the regular anime-art which isn't as stylized and kind of uniform. =\

I like this style! The facial features are stretched, but still have alot of substance. I like! And cross-hatching=the love of my life.

Quite a new style coming from you! I think it looks quite nice :3 Love your crosshatching skills, it's so fun to look at! Her pointy nose and the rest of her features make her look so dainty.
As for crits, I think they were already covered previously. Perhaps her neck starts a tad too close to her chin? In order for the chin to be as close to the neck as you have here, her forehead would have to be tilted forward and chin pointing inwards. I think that's about it ^^

I love the style so much here, lots of character and perfectly exaggerated. Very old fashioned, golden-age-esque as feralgrinn says
I also love the way you shaded the features in her face, especially the nouse-mouth area. One day I'd like to draw faces with such ease as you do

I like the cartoony style a lot - It's very golden age of illustration. There's a lot of character in her face and the softness you achieved with the hatching is very nice.
The only thing that's making this awkward for me is her chest and shoulders. It feels a little claustrophobic to have her arm pits and clavicle up so high regardless of how stylized everything is.
