Description I've seen this bird one other time in my backyard, still not sure of its name ..i looked in my bird book and
the yellow shafted Flicker has the same markings, the triangle red at the nape of its neck and the black v marking at the front with the speckles below.
Its shown to be in around the Great Lakes region where i'm at, so i'm pretty sure that's what it is.

lol, yes i did say Yellow shafted Flicker for the reason, it has yellow underneath its wings and when they they fly you can see a "Flicker" of yellow
