Description I actually do not like neither this illustration, nor how the scan rendered it, but anyway, I was tired of drawing and I had so little time....

I was inspired by the The Odyssey by Homer.. and particularly by the love between the Nereid Calypso and Ulysses/Odysseus.
Calypso [Kālypsō (Greek: Καλυψώ, English translation: "I will conceal")], was a Nereid (or naiad), a nymph of the sea.
In the illustration I tried to represent the confusion of her feeling when she see her love, Ulysses, leaving her.
... and the confusion of her feeling is transposed in the fury of the sea... the sea that is the inner essence of a Nereid, a spirit of the ocean...

E' bellissima! Mi spiace che non ti soddisfi, io la trovo splendida, sia come idea che come realizzazione! Mi colpisce come sei riuscito a rendere visivamente la furia dei sentimenti, per me è sempre molto difficile!

Wonderful composition. I love how the different panels tell different parts of the story, yet they are all interwoven by your beautiful line-work of her veil and the clouds.

I really love how everything seems to flow together in this picture--the way her clothing turns into the sea, and the tree merges with the clouds. Beautiful work as always!
