Mab is the Queen of the Fairy Unseelie Court. The origin of the legend is Celtic. It probably derives from the figure of Maeve (Maebhe) of the Cuchullain tales.China Inkβ¦.

excellent detail, i thought the clouds in the background were her hair. Maybe do a few more studies on the female form and it'll be perfect. The face is so classic looking!

Strangely, I love that rectangle of blank space under the bird. I've been taught that balanced composition is as much what you leave out as fill in, and you have a lovely sense of that here.

anyhow I might think this is great, I saw something, and likt to comment it to you: when I saw the piece on your gallery I got the feelingthere was some strange balance on the spyrals by the left upper part, that there was some feeling of steming... and as I saw it close the feeling was a bit compensated but it went still. I believe that the straight line as the limit is what is doing the effect, you should maybe consider letting the own spyrals put their limits, not a straight line but a cloud... just think about it, and tell me

This is wonderful ... the patterns are so rich and detailed and the entire composition flows beautifully. I love the elegant design of her costume, particularly the headpiece with its interwoven parts that border on abstraction. The spiralling cloudlike formation behind her is remarakble in its complexity, and the shading makes it appear very substantial. Beautiful work.
