Description "Infanta Urraca Alfonzez Ibarra, Duquesa de Sevilla" - Roughly Translated as Infanta Urraca, Duchess of Seville and daughter of Alfonse of Ibarra, .

A Quick conceptual sketch for the Women warriors belonging to Kingdom if Iberia from the historically wrong series. Pardon if her spanish naming ruins the language.....and for those of you who knows the History of Spain and/or speak Spanish, please do correct me

Her concept bore from reading the history of Jimenez Royal House in the 1066, where their members ruled the Kingdom of Aragon, Navarra, Leon, Castile and Galicia. At that time, Iberia were still under the Spanish rulers...that was true until the rise of d'Ivrea (Burgundian) who intermarried with the Jimenez, which resulted the kingdom being passed to their dynasty after the death of Queen Urraca of Leon, Castile and Galicia.

What actually interest me is the Basque people that inhabits Navarre in Spain. Apart from the Catalan people, basque has their own unique cultures which according to my reading, were much more lenient towards women compare to their neighbors. Thus, this become the base of her cultural background. Currently reading about women warriors are still scarce in Iberian Peninsula, although i did look at the history of Celtiberian in the ancient period, as well as the story of El Cid, whom his Wife took over his responsibilities after his death.

And yeah, the heraldry symbol is a stylized modification of the Coat of arms of Navarre.

There's more to come from this one

Maybe i'll soon create the Women warrior based on the proud French and Germans, the bread and butter of all medieval story......

Actually, i'm more interested in the Flemish who fought against the french, surely, a peasant that can kill a knight deserve a mention right?

i have been okay, and all is well. i just haven't been very motivated for drawing lately. i've got something in the works but i'm sort of having a block over it, too.

She seems cool. Hope to see more of her. It'll be interesting if you branch out to Europe.

Thank you

I'm planning on expanding to Europe, but it will be mediocre at best,  given that there's plenty of artists that have already drawn women with European style armors, regardless of the historical accuracy
