Description If there's one thing that's been getting to me recently is when someone goes, "I was putting money into this series as much as everyone else."  To me, that is one of the most selfish and self-entitled things anyone can say, especially if you're a hardcore fan of any particular era.  To those people, let me say two things.

For one, hardcore fans aren't the only one who bought the games.  This is of course, a no-brainer, but it feels like they forget that these games aren't marketed solely towards them but to everyone, especially when they came out.  I know that these fans know this, so why are they acting like heroes about it?  Because they think the Sonic games they want will save the series.  They're the games they want, they'll buy it no matter what, love it regardless of the quality, and act like they saved the series.  The sales of Lost World and Boom: Rise of Lyric might have done horribly, but calling others slaves of Sega and Sonic Team and supporters of anti-consumerism for even liking these games is highly ignorant, mostly due to the fact that you did the exact same shit in your preferred era.

To hardcore adventure fans, do you think it's ok to call other fans, especially novice fans, out for sucking Sega's dick for buying the newer titles when you did the exact same shit in the adventure era?  By the time Sonic Heroes came out, I'm certainly positive that there were complaints that it wasn't SA3, yet most of you bought the game.  Then around 05 and 6, you bought those particular games because you were a Sonic fan, just like everyone else.  Granted, back then; the internet wasn't nearly as big as it is today, but if you think you're allowed to enjoy your specific era, it's only fair to let others enjoy the current direction of the series.

It's like if one donated to charity as a hobby, but come of it saying, "I'm a better person because I donate all the time." That is not only fucking self-entitlement but it's disrespectful towards the company and other people.

Seriously, some people need to get their heads out of their ass.

Again, like I keep saying to these self-entitled pricks you bring up, I really don't care about Sonic as a whole. If the game looks good, I'll play it. If it has stupid gimmicks, I won't.

And if I, the consumer, want to buy a Sonic game, I will, but if it's no good, I'll trade it back in. Simple as that. You don't have to keep what you don't like.

But you have to admit, it’s still a pretty selfish thing for anyone to say.

People don't 'put money into the series' like they're donating to kickstarter projects. People buy the games because they want to play the games. You don't want to play the games? Fine, but others do, so shut up.

That said I am waiting for a sale in order to buy Forces because 40 is a liiiiittle steep for me.

This post is absolutely true! So sick of the Sonic fanbase behaving like complete elitists.
