The answer is neither.I've heard from time to time that the Pre-2010 fans complained that they got shit compared to the Classic Fans because of Sonic Mania. As much as I liked Mania, the Classic fans don't deserve it. Why? Because everyone bitched and whined about Modern Sonic's existence, some even complained as far back as SA1 (1999), or any game before 2006. Speaking of 06, I'll also agree that it's not fair to use that game to sum up 3D Sonic in a nutshell. I'm not saying 06's legacy shouldn't be forgotten completely, but just because we have a few bad 3D games, doesn't mean that they're all shit.
The Pre-2010 fans on the other hand, are just as guilty. From what I understand, they believe that the Classic Fans are responsible for "ruining this series past 2010" because of the highly biased opinions brainwashing everybody including Sega, leading to simplification, or at least its part of the reason. But regardless, what do they do? Do the exact same shit as the Classic fans, where they force their opinion down your throat along with out right demanding for what they want. Given that this has been going on since 2010, It's sad that nobody has moved on. Every year on the SA3 Facebook page, at least close to the date when Sonic Colors was released, they literally bash on the game for even existing. And they wonder why they're not being listened to. And to answer the 06 sales question, it only sold well because Sega hyped that game to death despite having an insufficient amount of time to finish up the project. If Sega actually went by sales or if 06 was good, they would've continued on from there, story and all.
The point here, is that both of these groups have been complaining for years in a highly disrespectful manner, and neither deserve to get what they want.

I agree with most of this, although (and maybe I'm just not noticing) but I don't think the classic fanboys have been nearly as loud and obnoxious as they were back in 2010. Plus when Mania got announced I think most of them actually started to feel generally grateful, even if it took years of complaining in the past to get it. Again maybe I'm just not looking hard enough, but I think a good number of them have actually gotten better, even if it's only better enough to shut up and keep their negativity to themselves.

I guess it has died down, but I’m more looking into the overall concept. But I’m sure there are a few extremists left. It’s just the amount of complaining has gotten to Izuka, which would explain why Classic Sonic was shoe horned in Forces.

Same thing to say to the adventuretards/pre-2010 sonictards, if a new sonic game with the adventure gameplay formula/SA3 happens, they don't deserve it.

Welp that's the Sonic fanbase in a nutshell why can't anyone in this fandom ever agree on anything and enjoy Sonic for who he is instead of bitching about his games all the time and why are Sonic fans so obsessed about a Sonic Adventure 3 coming out? I mean there hasn't been an adventure game since 2001.

The way I see it, Sonic's had three very clear upshots in quality before the Mania/Forces duo came in and messed with the trend. The Classic trilogy (and CD if you want to count it), SA1 and 2 (Heroes maybe), and Colors and Generations (with Unleashed as possible inclusion). All three of these peaks have wildly different gameplay styles, very different tones and focuses, and that's eternally going to keep the fanbase split regardless of what Sonic Team is going to do. And each side is going to have its extremists, and they will look towards their own kind for backup. So I say leave them to their own devices and ignore them, because they're not going to change.

Well Mania wasn't done for the extremists anyway, they're just along for the ride. It'd be a different story if it was a Sonic Team-made SA3.

I was talking about the reason they hired Whitehead and Thomley. The Dreamcast and '06 are the two defining factors of Sonic's history, there's no doubt there.

Al Jerico and DarkSonic180 are pretty much the most infamous pre-2010 Sonic fans in the Sonic fanbase. Totally annoying people. The SA3 Facebook page keeps on being the terrible and toxic page that it currently is.
In other news, the SEGA Retro Forums is now shutting down for good. About time, as that forums website is full of toxic Sonic fans. I now hope that the Sonic Stadium Forums suffers the same fate.

Someone ported Guardian Rock from Forces into Generations, and Luffy said in the comment section, “straight line hill” despite that the guy in the video was in the chase scene.

I still despise Monkey D. "Straw Hat" Luffy for all of his false lies on Sonic Forces. He sounds desperate to hate on that game.
