That was the same book Mark David Chapman was carrying when he shot John Lennon in the 80s. Chapman was in jail for a few years, according to CNN. A complete never before seen controversial version of Chapman's murder story while he was reading "The Catcher in the Rye" byΒ J. D. Salinger (warning: this website may containΒ offensive language) is shown here:Β Link

Did you watch the news about Mark David Chapman's refusal to be paroled? HE KILLED FORMER BEATLE JOHN LENNON.

I know the story, it's old news. You've read the book right though haven't you? there's nothing to incite that behavior. Humans try to palm their actions off on items so they don't have to take responsibility. Video games, rock music and apparently even books

Actually, Mark David Chapman had the book with him in prison while he is not paroled for killing former beatle John Lennon.

I asked you if you had even read the book and do you find the story to be anything that would incite violence?
If you want to claim this book has anything to do with murder than maybe you should analyse a more deserving candidate such as the bible

Well maybe you should read the book before commenting on events that happened based around it. Sure the book is brutally honest about humanity but the only real violence in it is when the protagonist is beaten up by a teenaged pimp (or possibly when he recalls his brothers death and talks about how he was punching windows), The murders 'linked' to the book are just feeble attempt by villainous individuals to shift the blame.

The murders linked to the book are based off the murders in real life. JOHN LENNON WAS MURDERED SEVERAL TIMES BY MARK DAVID CHAPMAN.

John Lennon was murdered Several times? How does that work? He was revived via necromancy to be killed again a few times?
"the murders linked to the book are based off the murders in real life" maybe you should try putting this sentence into English. If you were trying to say 'murders in the book' there aren't any...

Oh yes there are murders in real life. Judith Barsi was murdered by Jozsef Barsi. Brittany Murphy was murdered by toxic mold. Michael Jackson was murdered by a unknown source. Mako was murdered a few years ago. Whitney Houston was murdered in 2011. Eric Robbins was murdered while he was traveling from Louisiana to Texas in his car just to visit his parents in El Lago. Anne Frank was murdered by Adolf Hitler while becoming discovered by the Nazis but her diary survived and was discovered by her dad after the war and was given to another survivor who is a friend of his. That's just about the murderers in real life.

Michael Jackson? Seriously?Β Β These are all just baseless rumors cept one or two and have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CATCHER IN THE RYE. Are you okay? Maybe read the book before trying to make none existant connections

I'll read that book before uncovering the truth of various murderers of my past including the murderers of Anne Frank, Judith Barsi and Brittany Murphy (aka Brittany Biskit).

I'll check Catcher in the Rye out at the Santa Fe Library and read it before downloading John Lennon (Imagine) as a MP3 file.

It was an interesting piece of Art - not really a good written or timely Book - but a nice Piece of Art about a young Man who was at the brim of throwing his live away in the cold and bitter times after WW2. Nice One!

This is amazing! Beautiful representation of the scene. I don't know if this was intentional or not, but partly what I like most about the picture is that the rain makes it blurry so the characters are hard to see, leaving room for imagination, and the blurry-ness also makes it less image-y, when you know that Holden hates the movies and Salinger hates how image-reliant the world is. Apart from that, it's very skillfully drawn.
