Ahh omg this one is so beautiful!!! I love this and your Relic of Phoenix one; I'm very upset now that my country doesn't allow feather products to be imported in, otherwise I would have one of these in a flash!!

Awwww thank you very much!
Oh man, I REALLy have to do a tutorial YouΒ΄re now NO.5 who askes this only today
Β Β Β Β Β Small instruction
Well there areΒ΄nt as many secrets as you might think^^
I use simple hotglue to arrange the feathers; all small feathers are glued with a small dot of glue on the shaft of the biggest feather.
When theyΒ΄re arranged and painted I glue the end of the satinband on the tip of the hold, over the end I put glue again and put the writing nip on it. (they are bend as a half tube, so they fit perfectly on the feathershaft)
Now I start wrapping the satinband arround the hold, wrapping the end of the onglued writingnip tightly and go on until the hold is completely wrapped and looks nicely.
Then I glue the end on and burn it with a match, so no fibers get loose and everything looks even. I always try to wrap it so that the end is glued on the back of the hold, so its not visible^^)
For painting:
I use "Citadel Colors" from GamesWorkshop. They are waterbased colours that are very brilliant and make very thin layers - acrylics work too, but the layers get very thick so if you paint in many layers it can look a bit crummy...so if you work with acrylics water them down a little to make the paint thinner!
There no certain brushing or painting technique I use, in fact I started painting with brush and paint on feathers I tried canvas once I think, but theres not a real difference.
I use small brushes.
The most dificult thing is to make a sketch on a feather.
I painted ALL my feathers without a sketch, I just started right ahead, even with the ACIII one.
But you can draw a rough sketch on your feather with chalks or pastells, but be carefull, its not good to remove, so you should be able to completely overpaint it so no weird lines are left.
Eeeeehhhhmm... Any further questions?
