Description It's drawings of me, modeling drawings of coffee girl outfits. This started as a conversation between ~hatorade and I, about how it would be cool to work as a coffee girl for John and John from They Might Be Giants. We would learn how to make coffee just the way they like it, and other random tasks for them. And we'd get to go to every concert for free, because we'd have to stand backstage with some coffee ready in case they needed it. But anyways, these are 2 of the ideas I had for the uniforms, I couldn't decide so I drew them both.

The symbol on the apron is the TMBG symbol ([link] ) , you just can't really recognize it because I had to draw it small so it would fit.

When I think coffee outfit, I think of a starbucks outfit. I don't know, I usually go there besides dunkin' donuts to get a frappe or coffee with lots of cream. And yes, I honestly drink coffee even though I'm in my early teens. I guess I started when I had to go to the airport to say goodbye to my sis when she was going to China and got hooked on coffee over there. It also dates the time when I got into TMBG! (lol sorry for telling that dumb story of mine)

Hey, don't be sorry, I like stories, especially pointless stories. Especially if they have something to do with coffee. I love coffee. You're 14, right? I was 14 when I started drinking coffee. I actually tried it, because I figured, if the Johns are so wild about it, it must be pretty cool. Fast forward to about a year later, now i'm addicted, haha. I prefer my coffee from Starbucks, too, I just don't go there often because the closest one is still pretty far from where I live. But I drink a frappuccino every day with my lunch at school. Now who's telling pointless stories, eh?

FlansyLinny In reply to Gannabel [2007-08-30 19:38:29 +0000 UTC]

Okay, fine. It's just when I do it sometimes, especially face to face, people go "get to the friggin' point!" Someone on the internet did that to me, I think it was youtube, but he was a meanie (possibly a blue one). And yeah, I wasn't so crazy about it when I tried it for the first time a year ago, but when I realized that the johns love it, I decided to get into it. I now drink it when I have a test day or something, but not every day. I get up every morning at 6 and sometimes I don't have time to get a drink.

I have at least one cup each morning, and usually one after school. Plus a frappucino during lunch.

I seem to do it, too, talking to much when I could sum up my point in a few sentences. My mom hates it, especially. She yelled at me today for it.

Wow, and I don't even know why I thought to do the puffy sleeves, i'm not particularly into puffy sleeves, I just thought i'd probably look neat with the outfit, I guess. Maybe you accidentally mind-beamed me the idea.

maybe I 'shout' mind-beams at you
Muhaha
Seriously, If I were to find out that we were the same person, I would only be mildly surprised (that would make an interesting movie... guys talks to self on computer, but so crazy, thinks it's other person, haha)

"maybe I 'shout' mind-beams at you " Heck yes!

Hey... maybe, I have dissociative identity disorder, and you're my alternate personality. I guess all the excitement I had at getting to talk to someone who's not myself was for nothing. And it's going to be even weirder when you come to visit me.

"all the excitement I had at getting to talk to someone who's not myself was for nothing.", haha! That is going to be my new catch phrase (probably not, but I got a good laugh out of it). It reminds me of a line from the Simpsons Movie, where Lisa is talkoing about her new boyfriend Colin with her mom. And she's says something like "I haven't even told you the best part! He loves the enviroment! No wait, it's that he has an irish accent! No, I haven't told you the BEST part... HE's NOT IMAGINARY!!", haha.
I'm having fun telling people about my upcoming trip, because I always end on "And I'm staying with someone I met over the internet", and they just give me the ugliest looks, haha

Haha, my ex had a girlfriend who he met online, and she's from some other state, and I thought he was crazy for inviting this person to his apartment. I kept telling him, she's probably, like, Senator Craig or something, haha. I'm such a hypocrite. I don't care, though, and I don't think you're some old creepy guy. You couldn't be, though, because you're my alternate personality, I guess.

hatorade In reply to Gannabel [2007-09-07 21:27:07 +0000 UTC]

My mom was giving me the whole "She's probably a 50yr old pervert" schpiel yesterday Haha. I was like "no she's not!" and my mom says "How do you know?!", and the only thing that could pop out of my mouth was "Because 50yr old men don't swoon over John Linnell!" haha For whatever reason she seems to find it impossible to have an actual intellectual relationship online. You're basically my 'en-pal', eh? I'm not sure if she knows how often we talk, but it is hard for me to ever imagine a fifty yr old man telling me a story about "Hitler-Kid" (though I guess an eighty yr old man would probably have stories about 'some' hitler-kid )
Haha, I think it sounds like your ex was crazy, me visiting and some creepy internet chick visiting for whatever reason seems completely different too me And as your alternate personality, it's probably weird in general to be making plans with yourself, you silly crazy ('crazy' is a noun there)

"me visiting and some creepy internet chick visiting for whatever reason seems completely different too me" yeah, true. And anyways, we have these long, detailed conversations. My ex and his new girlfriend did, like, net-speech or whatever it's called (you know.... 'liek teh lolz u c?' and stuff).

I was having that conversation with my mom just today. She says "Jade's probably an old man!" And I say "No, I have pictures of her!". And my mom says "That's probably his latest victim", haha.

Oh yeah, I remember that. Man, we've had some wild conversations.

I like what you did with the sign idea. I showed my mom. She says she still has her doubts, but she figures if we get to the airport and you're an old man, we'll just leave you there and drive away. So don't be an old man when you get here, ok?

Gannabel In reply to hatorade [2007-09-23 16:13:45 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that would be extremely odd. It would be even weirder if I show up at the airport and you're really the swordfish that sings on "Theme From Flood". You better hope i'm not actually a shark.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hatorade In reply to Gannabel [2007-09-23 16:26:45 +0000 UTC]

Haha! I was definitely telling my sister about that swordfish last night, she was singing along to "Theme From Flood", and I just started laughing hystarically

I think if it came down to it, a swordfish could beat up a shark, so I have nothing to worry about

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Gannabel In reply to hatorade [2007-10-05 22:55:52 +0000 UTC]

Well.... if I were a shark, I would be a rare example of an animal classified as a vertebrate, although I have no actual bones at all. And I get some serious points for that, just because it's cool. Yay for biology!

Did she not know that we decided the swordfish probably sang that song? Because if not, that is mega ironic!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hatorade In reply to Gannabel [2007-10-06 06:49:43 +0000 UTC]

Sharks don't have bones? That's awesome! I can't remember a single thing I learned in biology, since it was all in french I never retained it.
'Cause Knowledge Is Power!
Oh no, no! She was singing 'Theme From Flood', THEN I laughed and told her about the swordfish. Haha, I was seriously thinking fo rlike 5 minutes "why is that ironic?", but I get what you meant now.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Gannabel In reply to hatorade [2007-10-13 16:37:21 +0000 UTC]

Sorry if that was confusing! yeah, what I meant was, you began to tell her about the swordfish I drew, and then she randomly started singing Theme From Flood. Now that would be ironic.

Yeah, sharks have no bones at all in their bodies! And yet, they are considered fish, which are a class of vertebrates. How is this possible, you may ask? Well, sharks are chordates (which means that they have a spinal cord and a notochord, which is like a backbone made out of cartilage). A true invertebrate would have no spinal structure at all.

heehee, knowledge IS power! If there's anything else you've forgotten from biology that you'd like to remember, just ask me! I'd be glad to explain stuff. In English, of course.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hatorade In reply to Gannabel [2007-10-13 17:14:49 +0000 UTC]

I'm pretty sure I'll live not remembering any thing from biology, and everything else I know from 'The Bloodmobile'
That's kind of cool, in a weird way. Unrelated, I remember when I was young, me and my brother used o have battles with lego sharks and swordfish And since Phil was th lego shark, he always one because he's bigger than me.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Gannabel In reply to hatorade [2007-10-14 00:32:40 +0000 UTC]

Ah yes, The Bloodmobile. That song made me sound smart. I was trying to sum up what blood actually does to a little kid, and I basically put the lyrics in my own words. The kids mom was like 'wow, you're smart'. In case you're wondering, this happened at a grocery store. A random kid asked his mom how blood worked, and she said she didn't know, so I explained it to them.

My sister and I played house with lego people, and sometimes the husband and wife would get into fights.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hatorade In reply to Gannabel [2007-10-14 07:07:56 +0000 UTC]

I like the fact that you were probably just eavesdropping on the kid, and just threw yourself into the conversation
I got a good chance to quote TMBG recently. Kayla came into work, and was complaining about her boyfriend (again ). I saw something like 'whatever', and she says 'Jade! Your supposed to be like encouraging me dump him or something to cheer me up!' So I say in my most 'foxy black momma' voice "Girl, you gotta take out the trash! And once you get'im out, tell him not to come back again!". She actually laughed pretty good at it
Oh no, fights? Your lego man wasn't a wife-beater, was he?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Gannabel In reply to hatorade [2007-10-19 20:17:08 +0000 UTC]

"I like the fact that you were probably just eavesdropping on the kid, and just threw yourself into the conversation" well, taht's pretty much what happened. i don't usually go throwing myself into random conversations, you know. I just figurered i'd never see them again, they wouldn't beat me up, and it didn't matter if I looked stupid in front of them, so I took the chance.

haha, as soon as I read "Your supposed to be like encouraging me dump him..." I knew what you were going to quote. That's so awesome. There's another reason i'm exited for you to come; we can make TMBG references all the time, and laugh really hard even if they actually aren't that funny. Like, even when my family does get one of my references, they don't laugh. They just look at me like they feel really sorry for me.

He was a wife beater. Actually, he beat on his daughter and mother-in-law, too. (My sister usually liked to be the Dad, and the game just wasn't interesting to her if people weren't hurting each other).

hatorade In reply to Gannabel [2007-10-23 23:26:57 +0000 UTC]

But what if that young child and his mother did beat you up? Than that would have been the best story ever
Wow, you guys must have had some estranged childhood, beating daughters and old ladies, haha. It's true though, if people aren't getting hurt, then it isn't fun! That's one of the good things about having younger siblings is that you have something to release your anger on. Well, technically I've never hit them, but we've had our share of violent video games.

Man, I S-U-C-K at smash bros! I've never been terribly good at video games, I'm more of a 'button-smasher' than I am a strategist. I tink it's going to be cool to get the new game on the Wii and be swinging around like an idiot.

I don't have a Wii, but I have a gamecube and an N64. I used to be pretty good at video games (i'm the ultimate at Crash Team Racing, I always win at that). I'm fairly decent at Super Smash Bros. I can beat my sis at any rate. I play as Pikachu, and I haven't mastered every move and combo, but I know the most useful ones and when to sue them.

I'm terrible at video games, it's ridiculous, since I've been exposed to them forever. Phil bought (well, I payed for it, apparantly he's going to pay me back) the new Resident Evil game, which you can play with 2 people, so I was playing it last night And I was basically just smashing buttons, NO idea what I was doing.

I miss video games (haha, "I miss video games" "I miss my mom" ;D). One thing I've noticed lately I've had no time for is my TV, which is weird. If you know Jade from about a year ago, I'd always be glued to it. I think I've only watched like, 20mins of television in the last week, and that was while I was doing arts-n-crafts and wanted to see if HCT123s would come on the Family Channel, so I wasn't really watching it, more like background noise. I'm too busy on the computer and listening to music. Oh god, I miss my mp3 player. I had to go upstairs earlier, and I had no music

Gannabel In reply to hatorade [2007-12-08 23:20:54 +0000 UTC]

I used to watch TV a lot, too, but in the past few years I watched less and less. Now days I only watch Tv during 'family TV viewing time', or little snippets when I walk into another room and it's on. That's the main reason i'm exposed to teh Disney channel so much, it's pretty much all my sister watches.

All, I hope your MP3 player comes back soon! I couldn't imagine not having one. I'm always listening to music, especially at school. I think school would be torture if I couldn't fir a few songs in between classes.
