I adore your style. I really like the bright colours you used in this drawing; it almost looks like you used coloured pencil with the soft slightly grainy texture to this. Very nice work.

MMOs aren't actually bad games by design, they're time sinks, you rarely play the game at intended levels of stats, which means the actual game ends up being farming the said gear so you can actually play the game on a level playing field; when in reality, at that point there won't be anything to do.
In MMOs there are problems with class stability before and after getting gear. By nature they are never balanced.
The social aspect of the game is what keeps people playing more so than gathering their gear.
There isn't any incentives to play after you've got gear, there is no story line or anything you follow in particular since it's all TEXT LOL, only a handful of the gaming community + RP'ers will read text.
MMOs are a crudely based platform of games with fedex questing heavy repition and limited player interaction. Usually the player thinks once they gear up, that's when the real fun begins.
So you usually get a lot of bad players blaming their gear and imbalance of the game, which I see happen a lot in world of warcraft, where it's not a problem of class balance but damage to hit point ratio, as damage doubled in the expansion and the hp did scale but not in proportion to the balance it had previously.
MMOs usually strive for the "journey" not the end result kind perspective on player satisfaction, but once you have everything, there is always the entrail of bordom till next major content patch/expansion.
Since the dawn of world of warcraft, MMO developers are started to realize that world of warcraft had done exactly everything the others did before it, they just got it "right". Sadly they thought they could just copy Blizzard and get free cash, but this isn't a degradble product.
So if they want in on the market, they'd need a lot of contrasting innovation.

ALSO. If you think I don't know the flaws in any MMO, you're sadly mistaken. I've played them for 5 years. I think I've picked things up. And I can't stand people who waste their lives on them and take the game too seriously. It should be for fun. So yeah. Play one yourself before you push your stigmas onto me.

I'm an MMO veteran, currently I'm waiting for the starwars MMO that has everything fully voiced and consequential quests that impact the outcome of your future story : )
I think DaoC was my fav MMO to date, WAR was going to be good but EA got a retard to manage it, since then they merge mythic and bioware to do the job LOL
It's interesting to see where it goes, I also participated in a few Aion CBT events, I recently wipe my Mobo so I cba to go through the loops to re-install a beta

Uhh... I haven't played in a month and when I DO play, I don't play constantly. Secondly, I DON'T play for gear. I raid on occassion for FUN and the main thing I do, period, is PvP just because, as I said, it's fun. Yeah, you have a lot of idiots blaiming crap on gear, but as far as PvP goes, skill is HEAVILY involved. My squishy little mage has taken down people who heavily outgeared me plenty of times. I once even killed two pallies at once and everyone considers them to be the most overpowered class in the game... though I think warlock are eep. sooo uhh... yeah... I was also severely undergeared at the time. ANYWAY. If I wanted an easy, or balanced class, my main wouldn't be a mage. I always play mages because they pose a little more of a challenge in PvP and I just like the class. They're fun and I could care less if a class has the upper hand because, as I said, I play for fun and you CAN still beat them. I like a challenge. Otherwise, I'd play a paladin. ALSO, WoW DOESN'T focus on the "journey"... I HATE questing for levels. The games STARTS at max level. Maybe you should stop talking to idiots who DO play too much and take games too seriously before you assume EVERYONE does that. Because yeah. If I were addicted, do you honestly think I'd paint and draw so much? And I do a lot more, mind you.

That's true I suppose, but all the MMO fans I've met were junkies, I was a junkie when I first started, I eventually managed to stop and just play alotted hours.
You don't burn out so fast so the game stays pretty fresh in that sense : )
