Explaining why I chose these characters out of the hundreds that exist... now!!

Utsuho Reiuzi as a Red Lantern: Of all the characters in the series/franchise, I can't really pinpoint anyone that would let their own rage consume them. Unless it was Yamame, but that's just taking mild frustration and blowing it out of proportion. Also, nuclear power = nuclear-level rage. Meh. As for the whole "energy channeled from mouth spewing" thing... ah, don't ask. She'd probably just cough up ashes, anyways.

Rin "Orin" Kaenbyou as Agent Orange: She appears as a mid-boss THREE times and as the boss of Stage 5 for SA. The first reason is because she wants to see if you can really handle calming her friend down. The second reason is solely to collect your corpse. As a kasha (demonic wheelbarrow that collects corpses and whisks them off to Hell), this might be expected behavior.

Nue Houjuu as a Yellow Lantern/Sinestro Corp member: Her ability is described, basically, as "hiding her true form." Now, I would have chosen Kogasa because her whole purpose in life is scaring people; I think she states at one point that she thrives on the fear of humans, and is disappointed that neither of the three heroines she faces are scared of her. However, Nue can use her powers to, perhaps, manifest one's fears or show off her ghastly Lovecraftian true form.

Marisa Kirisame as a Green Lantern: While Marisa IS a thief, later games don't focus as much on her thieving shenanigans and Flanderization doesn't take place when it comes to that. Usually. She's not only one of the most straightforward characters in the series, she also does have a lot of willpower if you look at her background: of the playable human characters in the series, Reimu has natural talent and the power of the gods and boundaries, and doesn't need to practice much; Sakuya is described as a "perfect elegant maid" and is known for efficiency; Sanae is for the most part in the same rut as Reimu; so it leaves Marisa. She studies very hard on her spells and has to learn them the hard way, and can't even fly without her broomstick. This all pays off as she has a lot of raw power, and improves every day.

Nitori Kawashiro as a Blue Lantern: Gensokyo is for the most part a happy place and many have some amount of hope in their hearts. But Nitori probably has the most, being so optimistic and whatnot. Especially in SA, she isn't very cynical or serious like Alice or Patchouli (whoops typo, lol), and she's one of those characters you just can't see being anything BUT a good guy.

Byakuren Hijiri as an Indigo Tribe member: When Byakuren began hunting youkai but secretly saved them from danger in order to preserve her own powers, she had learned about the troubles that the youkai faced, and all the discrimination they received. Eventually, Byakuren sought for equality amongst humans and youkai, not only gaining popularity amongst both eastern and western fans alike for her peaceful ideals, but even so far as to be nicknamed Youkai Jesus in the west (she was even sealed underground for "their sins"). Ichirin, Murasa, and Shou all talk about how kind she is, and what she does for the greater good. I think that's proof enough for me.

Alice Margatroid as a Star Sapphire: This is kind of taking fanon and blowing it out of proportion, but of the romantic connotations in the series, MAlice seems to be the most likely to be canon. There really doesn't seem to be other candidates, or it could just be fanon making Alice's "love" for Marisa that much more on a shiny pedestal.

Youmu Konpaku as a Black Lantern: I actually had to think a bit on whether to use her or Yuyuko. While Yuyuko is indeed dead, and her corpse may be risen in order to join the ranks, well... Yukari wouldn't ever let that happen since the poor girl's corpse is needed to seal away a demonic cherry blossom tree for all eternity. Youmu is something of a walking half-corpse, but... ah, it's too complicated!!
