Description
Hesperocyon is an extinct genus of early canids endemic to North America. Fossil evidence dates H.gregarius to be at least 37 million years old. The genus existed for approximately 11.5 million years. Hespercoyon had short forelimbs, longer hindlimbs, long body and tail. Its proportions were more like those of a civet or genet than those of any dog. It was about 80cm long.Click on the image for better view
