I can never get enough of photographing these wonderful little buggers. This is a female Common Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis), perched on her throne and basking in the late evening light as she surveys her imperial kingdom for her prey.It will be another 6 months or so before these gorgeously coloured Kings return to the shores of this tropical island, as the winter season has long ended and almost all of them have begun the long journey back north to breed.
