SUCCESS!! MY VERY FIRST DEVIATION!!!I am stoked to present to everybody the first page of my One Piece Doujinshi. This comic features the Strawhat crew debating the pros & cons of their show's treatment at the hands of "4Kids" and the censoring of anime in general. I started this comic about a year & a half ago, so this predates my knowledge of Funimation acquiring OP's licensing rights, the whole Water 7 storyline, and ( I am SO sorry ) Franky.
Still, I thought I'd submit this anyway for those few who don't know about the true One Piece and as a stern reminder of the evil of "4Kids" and for the sake of future animes . Plus , I thought people might get a kick out of it. I really, really, REEEEEEEEAAAAAAALLY hope everyone likes this.

Although honestly, I wished 4kids continued this series! I don't mind that they took off the blood and cussing, but if they kept the deleted stories and other things, but still added their own touches (like voice-acting), I would've liked to see how it looked.

I got into One Piece a few months back, and the original episodes in Japanese are the best by far!
This comic has renewed my wish to continue my artistic aspirations! Because really, I... don't have a single piece of art uploaded yet... really need to get to it. Heh...Β Β

2. no, no it doesn't, oh sure it was censored when it was on TV, but the DVDs are uncut, I compared them to the original japanese version, they were the exact same.

No, they still eat bug parts in the DVDs and also the Blurays. The DVDs and Blurays of Kai also keep the majority of the blood. There were very few scenes where even in the uncut version the blood was taken out for some reason or another. For example When Piccolo killed Goku and Raditz, unlike the TV version we do see the Makankosappo go through them, but even in the uncut version there wasn't any blood in that scene, then again in the comics this series was based on, that scene barely had any blood at all there so make what you will of that.
Like I said most of the blood and violence did stay in the DVDs and Bluray's of Kai, I still saw Frieza getting sliced in half by his own Kienzan, I still saw Trunks cutting Frieza into a million pieces, Kai just took out most of the filler which is a good thing.... a really good thing.

I'm so happy my friend told me about this! Go you, you awesome person you! I love this manga to tears, and after reading this it makes me so happy you addressed the situation! I used to call Zoro Zolo, until about 9 months ago, and that only happened when I got my first American version of One Piece (after I started reading it), and I'm happy that you also showed this mistake that's probably commonly made 
But you seem like a huge fan, and I respect people who are big fans, and know what they're talking about

Is it bad to go by the names in the English manga? Because that's what I do. Luffy is still Luffy, but it's Zolo, not Zoro in the manga. I haven't watched the anime since I was a kid but I still remember whoever dubbed it got a lot of things wrong. I honestly don't care about the names, but I'd like to know other people's opinions.

Really though since what we translate as 'r' and 'l' are the same character in Japanese I don't know if anyone can say for sure if it should be Zoro or Zolo. Well except Oda.
