You've changed it a bit, but it is still totally awesome!

How can you have choking over lemon cookies when this is in the background! Cook yourself some home made bread!!

Really!!

It is easy, it is therapeutic, it smells divine; and it is nice to devour!!

Better yet, get yourself a bread machine for Christmas!

And Tom Lacalamita's how to do all your bread work with a bread machine doing the labor. .. er ah, that is ... The Ultimate Bread Machine Cookbook (really I use mine all the time .. leftovers are nearly unheard of). Dinner Rolls, Christmas Stollen, Sourdough White, Spanning the Globe with Rye ... what's not to like -- it all eats with gusto!

Thank you! I've liked your work since I found you through an Art Department (or ArtOrder, can't quite recall) Comment you made about aspiring cover illustrators.

Is this Stormbringer from Glen Cook's The Black Company?

Anyways, beautiful work!

No not this time, but I ALWAYS pass Cook's books on every visit I make to the bookstore. They always catch my eye but I've never picked on up. I'm going in another day or so. Do you enjoy them?

I did the same thing until one day I picked one up and I have got to say it was one of the most pleasant surprises I've ever had. I would start with The Black Company, in my opinion it's his best. It's out in an omnibus now with the next two books in the series, (there are like nine or eleven), which are also excellent. I would certainly give them a read. It's very gritty grunt-soldier fantasy; moral ambiguity, low motive, battle, all that good stuff.

Let me know if you end up picking it up and enjoying it.

Thanks for that! Will do. Usually what you described is what I'm enjoying most in a book at this moment. I just finished up another Richard K. Morgan book and you just can't make a pretty transition after one of those, especially this one. I'm glad that there are a lot of his (Cook) books established already in case I do check the omnibus out. I've about 5 books I'm waiting for sequels on, make that now 6.

I've never heard of Richard K Morgan until you mentioned him but I just hopped over to Amazon and I think I'll buy The Steel Remains by him. Thanks for broadening my horizons.

Yeah, Cook's series usually span a decade at least and are heartbreaking at times because you really become involved with (maybe not love) some of his people. They can be a bit too vile at times to love, I think. But that's awesome in its' own right. Anyways it was nice talking to you, please keep up your amazing work!

This piece is so gorgeous, and I love the kind of dreary atmosphere- it makes the high lights completely pop. All the little details are so intricate and lovely.

Wow!
Had to come and see it again, , too.
Great details, but I notice its a strong point.

I keep wondering about getting Painter, it is on sale until end of August ... but I don't know because I have not used PS, either.

Have you used them both? What would you recommend ... being inclined toward painter to begin with .. ?? .. can you compare the two?

TIA, and again, wow-esque work!

Human eyes within the mask, I did not expect to see.

But it is not a mask .. a helm, it seems.

I have read of Strominger, is he yet the same?

Most full illustrations start out on paper. Smaller stuff I just open up painter and go.

The more I look at this, the more I love it! You have such an amazing mix of very finished, detailed areas, and softer, vaguely-defined areas.

The glowing symbol is really beautiful. Is there any significance there?

the complexity, the lighting, (the way the light hits the raindrops!), the colours, the atmosphere - everything is right.
great job!

how long are you drawing (cg, i mean)?

you are an inspiration!
