Description Japan is swimming with feral cats and my University is no exception. I cannot walk out of my dorm without seeing a cat. One day I was very lucky and had my camera with me and found these little guys sleeping in a bush ^.^

That's awesome, in my campus in West coast of the US there are also many feral cats, and they are perfectly fine and happy despite all these stupid claims that all feral cats are miserable and defenseless. There is even a group of black and white cats that snuggle together like this, and a year ago one of them had kittens and the kittens still snuggle with their mom now.

Thank you very much for liking my photo ^.^
Well, I think that in the long run... cats are probably better off as pets rather than being feral. I can't tell you how many kittens got abandoned around my campus in Japan. It was not uncommon for male kittens to get killed by older male cats either. Also many cats had messed up faces from fights... ^_^;;

That's just their natural behavior, in that sense all wild animals are better off as pets. Foxes live 14 years in captivity compared to 3-5 years in the wild. But we don't say "poor rabbits being preyed on by wolves". Remember that cats have only been domesticated for 7,000 years, a blink of an eye in evolutionary terms, they were not created by man but started out as wild animals too that also scratched each other in the faces had had ticks riding them.

Hmm, I think both opinions are valid and can be equally arguable.

There are four of them? They're so cute! ^.^ I wonder how you could take a picture with all those shadows. I'm not a very good photographer.

Actually, there are five in all. ^.^ If you look carefully, you will see that the kitten closest to the front is resting its head in the knap of another kitten's neck. That kitten is not facing the camera though.

P.S. I'm no professional either ^.^;; The lighting was just in my favor that day.
