Description This is a AMT kit - Anikins pod racer (sob) The first one I started I screwed up cuz some of the decals have to go on before other parts can. (that's why I made the other one into a little hot rod)

Cripes, I remember having the same kit at one time (I still have a few of the parts in one of several bins).
One thing I didn't like about the model was how thin most the parts were, especially for the engines.

Yes I know and I mes up the first one I had started cuz some of the decals had to go on first before other parts could be place on it.I didn't see that coming during the build. If you have seen my whole gallery , you can see the first one I did that I turned into a car.I din't know what else to do with it. Ha ha

I'll be sure to look at the first one. I'm currently thinking about using the spare parts for an objectives marker for Warhammer 40k, but I haven't done a whole lot of modelling since I moved in April '09.

I do know that. I made my last move some 15 years ago and still can't find stuff when I need it but only find it when I'm looking for some thing else.

Right now, my only salvation is that my father has finally got a workshop set up in the basement - after all, he was the one who got me into the hobby.

Yes me too. My farther was into building and flying model planes before I was born (1953)His first R/C plane was built and flown maybe some time between 1956 - 1958
We have some old silent home movies of this and you can see that I'm still pretty young and my sister isn't walking yet.

Did he ever get into making his own pieces out of resin?

LOL No he died in 1974 and Resins were just starting out in the other industries. Fiber glass was still the rage back then. He and a buddy of his tried to make a mold (blank) for some kind of R/C plane but once it was carve out and mic up they found the wood once it all had dried out got a twist in it so that alone would mes up how every thing else would line up with putting it all together.
My self haven't work with the stuff or even bought a resin body to build up.
