Description I wander sometimes
Searching the bay,
Sifting through the sands
Sea glass, driftwood, and remains of precious trilobytes
Hoping to catch
a glint of a mermaid's tail.

I am waist-deep,
And there is a gentle lapping
of blue tongues,
licking at my skin
blessing me with the salt of the seas.

Yet I am not afraid.

Because though I am far from the glinting beach
My feet embedded in the soft, deep, grains
My hand is wrapped
in a soft, warm thread
of a vibrant red color
Which glows in the sunset

Signaling me

Telling me

That it is time

To come back home to you.
