Description
I got my hands onto some natural paper and white chalk pencils, and I thought, I give it a go.Sketched my all time favorite god, Umbra. Won´t throw a lore dump here, because I still want to experiment around with his design, and second, a proper lore drawings need colors :`D
Umbra belongs to me, GelangweilterToaster and is part of my lore "Flames of Reckoning"

Ja.. tatsächlich kann ich meine Begeisterung nicht ausdrücken. Es ist einfach der Wahnsinn. Die ganzen Details und das shading, sowie die Pose, sein ganzes Erscheinungsbild und dann noch das Medium selbst....

ich hatte vor zwei wochen neue modellirmasse bestellt, und da haben mich die stifte udn das Papier so angegrinst. Was sind schon 20 Euro mehr XD
Ich hab trotzdem immernoch keinen Plan wie man ordentlich mit Kontrasten arbeitet :`D

naja licht-schatten, die signifikanten stellen im Bild hervorheben, was vor allem bei Umbra wichtig ist mit seinem hohlen Körper und unebenen Schuppenplatten, wo die Magie durchscheint.

Noobig würde ich jetzt nicht sagen.. vielleicht etwas schüchtern (?) aber es wirkt sehr 3dimensional, also kann es nicht so schlecht sein

Ich hatte mich bisher ja immer auf die Magie meines Laptops verlassen und schwache kontraste oft mit 4000 Schichten digitalem Shading kaschiert......also ich denke ja, schüchtern triffts ganz gut XD Hab mich eben nie wirklich wohlgefühlt, traditionelle Sachen deswegen hochzuladen

Aaaaach quatsch - ordentlich dick Schatten drauf, dazu sind Bleistifte da, ist finde ich auch das beste am traditionellen

I did actually :/ the tablet I used is not made for such things, I´m glad that I can at least somewhat upload images right now.

You don't need a specific tablet for that, just a program that allows you to edit photos. I've taken the liberty to crunch up the contrast and brightness, and I think it reads a lot better now. All done with the mouse.

When you're feeling courageous, try looking up free online photo editors and upload some pencil drawings to play with the brightness, contrast, and saturation sliders. For pencil sketches, I usually set the contrast pretty high, and experiment with the brightness (sometimes it looks better with lower brightness, sometimes it looks better with higher brightness). Some sketches may not really want to cooperate and you might not immediately find the settings that work for you, but eventually when you do, it really pays off. ^^
