this is very strongly reminiscent of The Place Of Dead Roads, a non-linear, noir 'western' novel by Wm. S. Burroughs of Naked Lunch fame. this is actually a better than average read and worth the attention of anyone who is a fan both of realistic Western genre fiction and the distinctive prose and preoccupations of William Seward Burroughs, the famous scion of the Burroughs adding machine inventor!
This would have made a much better book jacket than the one it was published with, in my humble but honest opinion.
