Good picture! Neat pose, your anatomy is good, and that's a very pretty coloring job. I'm impressed with your hands. I always have a hard time drawing those. Your cloth is excellent. It's not just a paper thin sheet, it's got depth and wrinkles. I like it.

Since you didn't discourage critique, I'd like to give you a bit.

With the cape billowing like that, the tiedown would probably be pressed up against his neck and not hanging loosely like that. His left (our right) thigh looks like it was drawn with the calf muscle structure. Here's some random pictures and drawings of thighs: [link]

Also, I know this is an established character of yours and you probably have no intent on changing the design, but the head seems too small to me. I believe if the jaw was either lower or more extended the cranial cavity wouldn't look so squished.

And just a note: the eyes are quite impossible. Eyes are spheres, and there's no way eyes of that size would fit inside the space given. I don't think it detracts from the picture at all and don't believe you should change them if you feel so inclined. You should already know art isn't always about creating realistic things (I mean... hello? It's a lizardman?) but I figured I'd point it out in case you hadn't thought about it and did care about it.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for your comments!
And yeah, I always appreciate constructive criticism like yours. Thanks a lot for it. I checked that link you gave; it was interesting, and I saved it for future reference.

As for the tiedown, well, yes, I'm aware it's physically impossible for the cape to behave that way. After giving it a LOT of thought (no kidding, I spent several days coming up with a good explanation as to how the cape ties work), I concluded that the upper part of the cape -which is flattened against his chest and nape- is somehow glued to his skin. It's the perfect explanation. Hey, it's an alien character, after all!

About the eyes, yeah, I was aware of that too. Then again, just like you said, it's a fictional fantasy character (with somewhat cartoony origins, might I add), so I took some license when designing his face and head.

(Heh. I should upload Reptarr's original design -which is from 1996- to Scraps sometime. You will laugh your head off when you see it )

Yes! Upload! If it'll make you feel any better, I'll upload some old picture of mine. I've saved quite a few that really don't give me that "hey, I've improved!" feeling, but rather more of a "MY EYES! THEY BURN!" feeling. It would be a fair trade, no?

And I'm glad you like the criticism. I always get nervous when I post on new people's pages that I'm going to get some kind of terrible response with fire, doom, and destruction, in that order.
