Here is a fan art of basically the evolution of Rayman, from the first game to Legends. It's amazing how much this character has grown and developed over the years. Anyways, I hope you enjoy. ^^Related content

I really like this! The way his design changed over the years feels reminiscent of how a child grows up. Their mind changes along with their body, and they develop their identity. At least, that's what I interpret when I look at the series over the years. The only thing is, Rayman is practically immortal and eternally a teenager, since he's over 100 years old, and hasn't aged (aside from his voice being deeper) during his century-long nap. I feel like you really captured that here! Great job!

Thanks! I really get what you are saying here, it just makes me so proud of how much Rayman has changed throughout his games, and I also feel like the games are kind of like a story about a limbless boy, growing up and facing the challenges, and overcoming them in the Glade of Dreams, and he has grown to be a lovable hero over his lifetime. I don't usually see games that have story lines like this, which makes the games really unique. ^^ Yeah, he has not aged a bit, during all those years of napping.

Honestly, I really do prefer the way he looked in the first and second games over his design from 3 and onward.

He sure looked really innocent and childish, back in the first game, that's for sure. I think that as the series went on, he grew older and so did his appearance, which makes him have a unique story about his transition to being a kid to a young adult.

...Except that Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends (in both of which he looks like he did in Rayman 3) do away with the continuity established in the previous games, if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah, those games were actually meant to be reboots of the series, especially Origins. Legends is considered the sequel to Origins, but I also think that to appeal to audience who wanted that classic vibe again, like it had in the first game, Rayman acted more like a child again.

Thank you very much! I thought about coloring his hair a bit more brighter orange in the Origins version, but I lost track of thought for it, but oh well. ^^ He still looks very nice and yes and many wonderful years to come for the limbless wonder.

I really loved Rayman's design in Rayman 3 the most as well, it makes him look more "cooler." Plus, I always thought that his hair in Rayman 1 and 2 looks a lot like string cheese. But he is cool in either way he looks. I really like the fact that Rayman looks like he got older as the games progressed, almost like an age timeline, which is something you don't really see in the main characters in video games.
