I set off trying to draw a regular old dragon - I ended up with a Giger Dragon. Drawn on a large-size notecard.

Still very impressed with your charcoal work - it looks like bones.

Thank you very much - I've gotten much better with controlling them(as opposed to great amorphous and usually hideous abstractions.

Now I have well crafted, slightly-less amorphous, just as hideous abstractions.

It's been hell on my regular drawing though; it's really hard to shade with graphite now. I think it's something like going out driving after playing a racing game.

Sounds like an apt description, driving after a racing game.

I'm jealous that you can do this. tell me, how black were your fingers and hands after this?

Only a bit. It's a really tiny drawing.

Very nice. It's a wonder you didn't smudge everything at one point and screw it up. I always do -__-;

I'm careful? It helps that I own five charcoal pencils(Soft, B6, B4, B2, white) they give me a lot more control. Also, I use both a tissue and a little smudging nib thing. Not sure what they're called.

I believe the "smudging nib" is called a blending stump/stomp (I know people who say both ).
