Description Royal Horse Artillery Dress Uniform

This is the full dress uniform worn for royal occasions and parades. The design has barely changed since napoleonic times. The Busby is made of real bear fur, but is Vintage. Apparently the Bear population of canada is out of control right now anyway so this isn't quite as immoral as it may sound. The tunic was formerly a prop from 'Angels' the theatre suppliers and who knows what it was used for, as it is of the same design worn by jimi hendrix. Breeches are ordinary line trousers - nothing special. the boots are private purchase and seem to go with every uniform i wear!

if you NEED individual pictures for your own use please ask, BUT download the full dpi version of this in the mean time. I hope it's useful and please check my gallery and other stock images.

Hey dude ....where did you get hold of this uniform?

I'm in Bristol and I'm looking all over the place for some 1890s soldier uniforms (Sappers/Hussars/Royal Horse Art)

ah ebay mostly, you need a sharp eye and a big bank balance, there's lots of websited too, but ebay's the cheapest.... militaria fairs have the best quality and choice though... but the biggest prices.

Tell me what you want - exactly - and ill tell you who'd best to ask!

word of warning; the hat alone cost £160!!!

I realise the bearskins are pretty darn expensive!

I just bought a Royal Grenadier Guard jacket, but I was previously looking for RHA and Hussar jackets for the film I'm doing in my student years

...Envy is unbecoming of me... Oh, once again old boy, nice uniform. A complete one two. I'm back by the way. I picked up a few interesting things there, including a full WWII Royal Australian Engineers 2nd Lieutenant's uniform. I know I don't like engineers that much, but it was the only officer's uniform there was XD. Also found a brilliant genuine pith helmet. Did I miss much?

hmm, a couple of things i could have done with you on; allow me to update you:

1. we had a poll as to how realistic the forum should be with regards to the paranormal, the concensus being that a limited amount of weirdness should be allowed; the main topic being the revelation that Lieutenant Fox appears to be a werewold.....

2. i am having to play as ross for the expedition storyline

3. nelson, boruta, the dauphin and nath all wish to have a sea battle, but it seems to have ground to a halt, i may kick it into gear

4. the british navy's expedition's impedning arrival is to be anounced

5. a... 'devilship' (simply a tough imperial warship) is going to be reported by fishermen soon

*and i will reveal how this all ties together to you soon*

other than that, not a lot, though many are on holiday and i'm yet to 'imp' the forum

AS for miliaria, congrats on the Lieutenant! i'd be pleased with that, and i hope the pith fits well, i've just bought a 1913 bayonet, remington though so not SMLE...

anyway i look forward to speaking to you again, you need to tell me how you got on!

Vyse's hat: ...meeooow Raaargh.. meeow. ! *the bear part starts gnawing on Vyse's head*

The British part of the squadron: Poor lad. He was a fine man.

The hat: *snarl*grargh*...*tries to take over Vyse's mind*

On a more serious note that is again the lovely uniform! And aye the jacket is looking as great as ever. Nice hat, though it looks big n' fluffy ^,^;... but those are the standard I guess.

Lol Ha!

Serious question does this unifrom apropriate to the RHA on Devia, does it go back that far?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GeneralVyse In reply to SimonLMoore [2007-07-11 19:39:46 +0000 UTC]

pretty much, i think they wore helmets like dragoons in 1795 though, sort of like old fireman's helmets. i'd say though, that vyse's RHA looked like this
